Home charging is the single best part of owning an EV. A Level 2 charger gives you a full battery overnight, every night. Tim's installed Tesla Wall Connectors, Grizzl-E units, ChargePoints, and the FLO chargers that come with Hydro One rebates. Most installs are half a day — indoor garage or outdoor driveway, panel permitting. If your panel can't handle the extra 40-amp draw, Tim quotes the upgrade at the same time so there are no surprises.
What it costs
Transparent pricing in writing.
A Tesla Wall Connector install runs $1,200 to $2,400. A charger install with a dedicated outlet (charger equipment not included) runs $1,300 to $2,400. If your panel needs an upgrade alongside, the combined install is $3,500 to $5,500 (charger equipment not included). Indoor garage installs are usually at the low end; outdoor driveway and detached-garage runs are at the higher end.
Before & after
What we replace. What we leave.
What we typically find
- Level 1 charging at 5-8 km per hour is too slow for daily driving
- Panel doesn't have spare capacity for a 40-amp circuit
- Need a dedicated outdoor-rated install for driveway parking
- Detached garage that needs its own subpanel run first
- Two EVs in the household, need load management

The Install Process
From panel check to first charge.
- 01
Panel capacity check
Tim runs a load calculation on your panel. Confirms it can handle a 40-50 amp continuous draw, or quotes a panel upgrade alongside the charger.
- 02
Circuit installation
Dedicated 240V circuit from your panel to the charging location. We fish wire through walls where possible to keep the install clean.
- 03
Charger mounting and hookup
Mount the unit, connect the circuit, weatherproof any outdoor connections, test the full system end to end.
- 04
Permit and inspection
We pull the ESA permit and schedule the inspection. You don't see the inspector — we handle it.

An EV charger draws 40 to 50 amps continuously for hours. Wire it on the wrong gauge or skip the right disconnect and it's a fire risk on the wall of your garage. Tim sizes the circuit to code, uses the right wire gauge, and pulls the ESA permit on every install. Done right the first time.

FAQ
Common questions
Can my panel handle an EV charger?
It depends on what else is on your panel. A Level 2 charger draws 40-50 amps — meaningful capacity. Tim runs a load calculation first and tells you whether the panel works as-is or needs an upgrade. No guessing, no surprises mid-job.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?
Level 1 plugs into a standard 120V outlet and adds about 5-8 km of range per hour. Level 2 uses a dedicated 240V circuit and adds 30-50 km per hour. Most EV owners switch to Level 2 within the first month.
Do you install Tesla Wall Connectors?
Yes — and Grizzl-E, ChargePoint, FLO, Enphase, JuiceBox. If you're not sure which one fits your vehicle and use pattern, ask Tim. He has opinions.
Can I install a charger outside?
Yes. We use outdoor-rated chargers and weatherproof the wiring and disconnect. Tim has installed plenty on driveways and outside detached garages in York Region — they handle Canadian winters fine.
