Pot lights are the most-requested job we do. A typical Newmarket or Aurora kitchen gets 6 to 10 lights on a single dimmable switch, and the difference is night and day. The trick is doing it without trashing the ceiling. Tim uses slim-profile LED retrofits in tight ceilings and full cans where the joists allow. Either way the drywall stays mostly intact and the cuts are clean enough that paint touch-up handles it.

How We Install
Cut clean, wire right, dim properly.
Tim walks the room with you, marks the layout on the ceiling, and confirms the spacing so the room reads evenly lit instead of patchy. We cut the openings, fish wire through the ceiling cavity from a power source on a dedicated circuit if needed, install IC-rated fixtures where insulation is present, and wire to a proper dimmer switch (not every dimmer plays nice with every LED — Tim spec'd the matched pair). Test, clean up, done.
IC-rated fixtures are required where insulation can contact the can — that's most ceilings in Ontario. Wrong fixture, wrong dimmer, or wrong wire gauge on the home run and you get flicker, hum, or a fire risk. Tim spec's the dimmer to the LED, uses IC-AT (insulation-contact, air-tight) cans, and runs everything on the right circuit.

Common questions
How much does pot light installation cost?
$150 to $250 per light for a standard install. A 6-light kitchen retrofit is typically $900 to $1,500. If we need to pull a new circuit from the panel, add another $400-$600.
Will you mess up my ceiling?
No. We use slim-profile LED retrofits in tight ceilings and the cuts are clean. Paint touch-up usually handles any marks. We don't leave drywall destruction behind.
Why do my existing pot lights flicker?
Almost always a dimmer/LED mismatch. The dimmer was made for incandescent loads and the LED driver doesn't handle the trailing-edge waveform. Tim swaps in a matched LED-compatible dimmer and the flicker stops.
