Tim handles the electrical side — smart switches and dimmers that need the neutral wire most older homes don't have at the switch box, smart panel meters, EV charger integration, smart thermostat power, hardwired video doorbells, smart smoke alarms. He pairs with low-voltage installers for the network and AV side when needed, or wires everything end-to-end on smaller jobs.

How We Build a Smart Home
Plan it, wire it, commission it.
Tim walks the house with you to figure out what you actually want smart and what you don't. Most people don't need every switch on Wi-Fi — usually it's the lights you change most often (kitchen, living room, master, exterior). We confirm whether your switch boxes have neutrals (older homes often don't), spec the smart switch platform (Lutron Caséta for most homes, RA3 for larger or whole-home), and install. Commissioning is the last step: pair every device to the app, set scenes, and walk you through how to use it.
Smart switches need the neutral wire at the switch box — and a lot of older Ontario homes don't have one. Tim spec's the right platform for what you actually have and runs neutrals where needed. He also commissions the system so it actually works when you leave, not just when he's standing there.

Common questions
What's the difference between Lutron Caséta and RA3?
Caséta is the consumer-grade Lutron platform — great for 5-20 switches, works on its own hub, pairs with Apple Home / Google Home / Alexa. RA3 is the pro-grade Lutron platform — handles 100+ devices, deeper integration with Control4 or Savant, and proper engraved keypads. Most homes only need Caséta.
Do I need to redo all my switches?
No — only the ones you actually want smart. Most people do 8-15 switches in the rooms they use most. Tim helps you figure out which ones matter.
Will smart switches work with my existing wiring?
Depends on whether your switch boxes have neutrals. Older homes (pre-1990) often don't. Tim checks before quoting, and if neutrals are needed we can either run them or spec neutral-free Lutron models.
